Ghosts hang in branches,
bonfire incense upon
bleak autumn altars.

Autumn sheds excess--
leaves, thin fur, warmth; climbs toward
shuddering winter.

  1. Ooh, haiku. I love it, especially the imagery in the first stanza.

    1. Haiku are my lazy go-to poems. Because they are so "easy" so to speak, it is a real challenge to make one worth something.

  2. Yeah, the imagery in the first stanza is AMAZING. The second stanza is good as well, especially the first line. I Love the first line.
